Summary[]
Ayako praising Hanamichi on his ball handling skills
Sakuragi, frustratingly every day, continues to do his basic training of dribbling. On the other hand, notices that ever since Rukawa has joined their team, the number of girls attending to watch them do basketball practice has been increasing at a speedy pace. Mito and his colleagues also head to the basketball court to see Hanamichi. Upon reaching, they also notice the increased number of all the females present outside the court. On the other side of the court, Mito sees Haruko idolizing Rukawa. Takenori is impressed with Rukawa's work ethic and progress; later, Ayako also joins and praises Rukawa. Upon seeing all the praises and acclamations Rukawa is receiving, Sakuragi angrily tells himself that it's been a week since he joined the team, and all he has been doing is dribbling practice. Similar to Rukawa, he also wants to impress Haruko by doing a slam dunk.
Ayako sees a daydreaming Hanamichi and jokingly smacks him back at his head. Afterward, she informs Sakuragi that he will be working on basics training of ball handling. Hanamichi, hearing the word basics, gets a bit frustrated again. Sakuragi then politely asks Ayako when he will have an opportunity to practice with his teammates, and he wants to do a slam dunk. Ayako responds to Hanamichi that he hasn't finished learning all the basketball basics training yet. She then shows him how to do the ball handling technique. Sakuragi sees it and does it at a faster pace. Everyone on the court is amazed by Hanamichi's speedy ball-handling style. Ayako praises him, and Sakuragi tries to make his way on the court; Takenori stops him. A frustrated Hanamichi tells Akagi that he wants to do something different and is bored with basic training. Upon seeing a furious Hanamichi, Mito and his colleagues head to the basketball court. Sakuragi sees his friends and takes out all his frustration by headbutting his colleagues. Next, Hanamichi yells at his other teammates to return all the basketballs because he is responsible for keeping them clean.
Takenori telling Hanamichi that he lacks concerntration
A furious Takenori instructs Hanamichi to do 500 passes, and if he fails once, he will have to double the amount. Sakuragi yells at Akagi and informs him that he feels like he is being bullied on the team. Takenori tells Hanamichi that he acts like a grade schooler and should mature up. Upon hearing, Sakuragi informs Akagi that he will not follow his instructions anymore and attempts to do a slam dunk. Takenori angrily kicks him from behind; Hanamichi then furiously headbutts him. The situation on the basketball court gets worse. Sakuragi then decides to leave the court and informs his teammates that he is quitting the team. Upon his departure, Takenori tells Sakuragi that he lacks concentration.
