Sakuragi and his friends help him in cleaning up the locker room

It's a beautiful fresh, sunny morning, and a delighted Sakuragi forcefully makes his way into the basketball team's locker room. Hanamichi then excitingly wears the number 4 Shohuko High teams' uniform. Meanwhile, some of the basketball team members arrive, and they notice that the locker room's front door is damaged. Upon their entry, Hanamichi greets and informs them that he is the newest member of their team. All of the freshman and sophomore students of the Shohuko High team get frantic and tells Sakuragi he is wearing their team captain Takenori Agaki's uniform. Upon hearing Sakuragi confidently inform them there is no need to worry cause he successfully defeated Akagi yesterday and then jokingly calls him Gorilla. Takenori enters the locker room, and upon seeing Sakuragi, he gets a bit irritated. Hanamachi, at the given moment, is unaware of Takenori's appearance.

Upon seeing Takenori, Sakuragi changes his demeanor and respectfully greets Akagi, calls him older brother, and then screamingly introduces himself as the newest basketball team member. Upon listening, Takenori covers his covers ears and then informs Hanamichi not to call him his older brother, and he is not accepting him as the newest member on the team. Sakuragi seeing Takenori's cold demeanor believes that Akagi is taking the recent defeat personally. Hanamichi then informs that you are letting Rukawa join the team. Upon listening, Takenori laughs and responds that Rukawa is an elite basketball player and, in comparison to Rukawa, informs Hanamichi that he is worth to him of a very little value. Sakuragi frantically throws away the uniforms and then tries to calm himself down. To impress Takenori, Hanamichi tries to create a diversion by blaming one of the senior members on the team, Yasuharu, for calling Takenori a Gorilla. Hanamichi then sneakingly takes Yasuharu outside the locker room and asks what Takenori's likes and dislikes are. Akagi witnessing Hanamichi's outlandish behavior, tells himself he will never let Sakuragi join the team.

Yasuharu informs Hanamichi that Akagi is a person who likes tidiness and cleanliness. Sakuragi goes a bit further and asks what his favorite food items are and does he have a girlfriend. The following day Hanamichi disguises himself as the basketball teams' delivery guy. He approaches Akagi's classroom and asks his colleagues where does he usually sits. Sakuragi then places the huge gift parcel at Takenori's desk and leaves. Later Akagi approaches his classroom and sees the gift parcel. He opens the package and sees piles of bananas in the box, and right away believes it must be the trouble maker Sakuragi Hanamichi.

Later, Hanamichi requests his good friends Mito, Yuji, Nozomi, and Chuichirou to help him clean up the locker room. The five of them diligently worked hard and organized the entire locker room. After school, the basketball team members approach the locker room and notice that the front door again is broken, and they believe it must be Sakuragi again. Hanamichi confidently tells them that they are late. All the members are amazed that their teams' locker room looks cleaner than before. Takenori approaches and is astonished. Instead of praising Hanamichi, he compliments his other team members for their hard work. Sakuragi gets frustrated and leaves. Hanamichi cannot believe that Takenori is Haruko Agaki's older brother. However, he doesn't give up. After the conclusion of the basketball practice session, Hanamichi breaks into the locker room again and tries to clean every single basketball. Later call his friends to help him clean up the locker room again, some of them don't answer, and others make excuses that they cannot help. However, Sakuragi doesn't give up stays late all night cleans the entire locker and the basketball gym. The following day Takenori arrives at school, sees the locker rooms' front door is again broken, remembers it must Hanamichi. Upon entering sees, all the basketballs have been appropriately cleaned and then makes his way to the court; he sees a neat and clean floor of the basketball gym, and all of a sudden, he sees an exhausted Hanamichi lying on the floor. Seeing Sakuragi's diligent work ethic, Takenori gladly gives Hanamichi a second chance to become a basketball team member. Later, Mito and his friends inform Haruko that her older brother has given Hanamichi a second chance, and today will be his first practice session. Mito then invites Haruko and her friends to accompany them to celebrate and see Hanamichi as he participates in his first basketball practice.
