The Judo club members notice that the first-year student is Sakuragi Hanamichi, and then they praise their captain for his effort. Upon witnessing, Kogure requests Takenori that they should go inside and stop the fight. A furious Sakuragi gets up and rechallenges Aota. Hanamichi does his signature move the headbutt and knocks out Aota. The Judo club members inform Hanamichi that he just made an illegal move and only Judo moves are allowed. A delighted Hanamichi takes all the pictures of young Haruko and tries to leave the court. As he is about, Aota grabs Sakuragi's leg.

A confident Aota states that this is Judo and again insists to Hanamichi that he should join the club. Ayako notices Hanamichi inside the Judo gym and asks as to what is going on. Kogure informs Ayako about the entire situation. She urges her captain to stop both of them. Takenori refuses and states that he knows his friend Aota. He will not injure Hanamichi and further comments that it is up to Sakuragi to decide whether to stay on the basketball team or join the Judo club. Sakuragi somehow manages to escape the 'shatter wrist cross lock,' and Hanamichi does one of his cross lock. Aota seeing Hanamichi's strength becomes excited and again urges Sakuragi to consider joining the Judo club. Aota then tosses Hanamichi to the ground and comments that he has the talent to become his second-best pupil. Sakuragi furiously states to give him the pictures. He then grabs Aota and does a shoulder-throw move.
